We were welcomed with blue skies and a small swell on the water, wonderful conditions to see the whales. Travelling straight out past the headlands we were welcomed with a pod of three whales with five to six minute dives at a depth mark of 40m. We spotted more whales with breaches from the juvenile. Before heading towards home the Hinchinbrook stopped at Cabbage Tree Island to say hello to the seals, also spotting some common dolphins in the area.

For the afternoon cruise there were whales everywhere! But there were four whales in particular with exceptional surface time according to our crew, with a few powerful tail lobs seen too. We looked at the seals once again at Cabbage Tree Island and enjoyed the company of the common dolphins who were surfing the wake of the boat.
