How to Find Us

Departure Points

Moonshadow – TQC Cruises vessels depart from two different locations in Nelson Bay, Port Stephens NSW.

Moonshadow TQC departure points are from d’Albora Marina & Cruise Passenger Terminal in Nelson Bay.

Vessel Departure Locations are as follows:

  • Moonshadow V & Hinchinbrook Explorer at the end of Dock C d’Albora Marina, Teramby Road, Nelson Bay.
  •  MV Spirit of Port Dock D d’Albora Marina, Teramby Road, Nelson Bay (please walk down Dock C to find Dock D).
  • Moonshadow IV, MV Spirit & MV Surprise depart from the Cruise Passenger Terminal, 40 Victoria Pde, Nelson Bay.

Getting to Port Stephens

Self Drive from Sydney

The Port Stephens drive map shows major road signs for you to watch out for so that you feel confident that you are on the right track. The map gives distances in kms from the start of the M1 Pacific Motorway and arrows to indicate the direction you need to follow.

Don’t forget to reset your tripmeter at the start of the M1 Pacific Motorway ‘Highway 1’ sign.

Flying

Newcastle Airport is located only a 25 minute drive from Nelson Bay. Flight information can be found at the Newcastle Airport website along with transport options to get to and from the airport.

Flypelican offer direct flights from Adelaide, Canberra, Dubbo, Taree & Ballina.

Regional Express offer direct flights from Sydney & Taree.

Virgin Australia offer direct flights from Melbourne & Brisbane.

Jetstar offer direct flights from Brisbane, Melbourne & Gold Coast.

Public Transport from Sydney & Coaches

The Sydney Trains provide a train service from Sydney to Newcastle. When you catch the train from Sydney you need to get off at the Hamilton Station stop then walk to the bus station on Maitland Road. There you will catch the Port Stephens Coaches bus to Nelson Bay Woolworths Bus Stop, from there you walk down Stockton Street to d’Albora Marina where you will find our vessels. Your NSW Opal Card can be used the whole way

Port Stephens Coaches provide a daily direct coach from Sydney to Port Stephens

The Sydney Trains provide a train service from Sydney to Newcastle. AAT Kings provide a full day trip excursion from Sydney to Port Stephens departing every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday; tour includes Australian Reptile Park, Dolphin Discovery Cruise and Sandboarding Adventure

Greyhound have an East Coast service with drop off in Newcastle Bay 5, Coach Interchange, Behind Railway Station , Wharf Rd. You will be able to connect with a Port Stephens Coaches bus to Nelson Bay Woolworths Bus Stop, from there you walk down Stockton Street to d’Albora Marina where you will find our vessels.
