Whale Sightings

What an exciting day on the water we had today on both Envision and Hinchinbrook Explorer! As we made our way our past Boondelbah Island we located a mother, calf and escort Humpbacks. The mother and escort were both very large and made the calf look tiny in comparison. However this morning it was the calf practicing its newly found tricks doing lots of breaches, body rolls and fin slapping. There were also some common dolphins nearby sneaking a peek of the action.

On board Envision in the afternoon we again located another mother, calf and escort just outside of Tomaree Headland. This pod were coming up nice and close to the boat frequently and were quite inquisitive. This had our crew and passengers excited so we stuck with them for quite some time. On our way back into Nelson bay we found some resident bottlenose Dolphins too.
