Today’s whale watching adventures aboard MV Osprey delivered some memorable encounters for our guests, with plenty of whale action throughout both cruises.

Our morning passengers were treated to an energetic display from a small group of juvenile humpback whales. These young whales certainly put on a show, delighting everyone on board with an estimated 20–30 spectacular breaches throughout the cruise. Their playful behaviour created an incredible atmosphere as they launched themselves clear of the water time and time again, providing fantastic viewing and photo opportunities.

The afternoon cruise encountered four humpback whales, offering guests a different but equally fascinating experience. While the whales were less active at the surface compared to the morning juveniles, they displayed classic migration behaviour with a series of longer 10-minute sounding dives. Watching these magnificent animals arch their backs and disappear beneath the surface before re-emerging nearby provided a wonderful insight into their natural travel patterns along our coastline.
