Whale Watching Moonshadow TQC Cruises Port Stephens

Passengers aboard the Hinchinbrook Explorer have enjoyed a wonderful morning with good sea conditions off shore looking for the mighty Humpback Whale on their northern migration along the Port Stephens coastline. Cruising out through Shoal Bay we have spotted three of our local Bottlenose Dolphins, we have continued along past the Tomaree Headland on-towards Fingal Island. Our crew have located a pod of three juvenile Humpback Whales that were in a very playful mood, spending a good amount of time on the surface of the water and displaying pec slaps, body rolling and a spectacular breach or two.

Our Cruise Director Yui reported a very good day on the water – loved being at work and had the best birthday – lots of happy birthdays from crew and passengers (she was feeling very loved)!!!!!

During our afternoon Whale Watch Cruise we located one lazy whale resting on the surface of the water. It turned and headed south when realised it was going the wrong way it turned back and headed toward Hinchinbrook – things got exciting from then on, with the whale approaching right near the boat, then went under the boat and came out the other side.  Passengers (and crew) got to have a great look at the whale.

Yui’s birthday wish was to see her beloved local Port Stephens Bottlenose Dolphins which we spotted on their way back in – which signed, sealed and delivered the best birthday that Yui could ask for.
