What a start to the day, with seven or more pods of Humpback Whales being sighted as the Hinchinbrook Explorer cruised off shore. The crew have reported whales breaching in the distance with lots of big splashes. We have spent time with three Humpback Whales that have swam quite close to the vessel, with all three whales spending a good amount of time on the surface of the water and showing their beautiful tails as they dove under the water.
For our passengers on the 11am MV Spirit Whale Watch Cruise, we have started our morning with two pods of whales, these whales were very quiet so we have moved onto a more active pod of two Humpback Whales near to Cabbage Tree Island. Both whales were very playful taking turns breaching, head lunging, and pec slapping.
