Winter days at Port Stephens don’t get much better than today’s sea conditions with calm and peaceful waters greeting us as we have cruised out through the headlands at Shoal Bay, along with blue skies and brilliant sunshine.

Hinchinbrook Explorer has traveled off shore to a water depth of around 90 meters, the crew have reported the sighting of three pods of whales within eye sight, but we have stuck with a lone active whale who was putting on an amazing display of tail lobbing and pec slapping the surface of the water.

Before heading back to the dock we have cruised along to Cabbage Tree Island to wave hello to the Australian Fur Seals basking in the sunshine.
