With the sunshine switched on the crew where chomping at the bit to get out offshore. After passing the heads and entering the open water the crew where diligently on the lookout for any types of marine life the ocean had to offer. After a short while the crew of MV Spirit of Port Stephens came across an adult and a juvenile whale located straight east approx. 7km off Box Beach traveling north. The 2 Humpback whales gave a little show with the juvenile doing some tail lobs to the sounds ohhh ahhhh of the pass angers onboard. Humpback whale do sounding dives while traveling, some can hold their breath for a long time but we were lucky these two dives were only around five minutes per dive so that gave to some great viewing.
