Its been a spectacular day of whale watching at Port Stephens, we have started our day by spotting a Humpback Mum and her calf at the entrance bar close to the Shoal Bay Headland and once we have headed further off shore there have just been whales in every direction that we look.
Our afternoon cruise aboard the Hinchinbrook Explorer has amazed and delighted both our passengers and crew today. We have spent close to 45 minutes with a very active and playful Humpback Mother and calf. Mum has been lying on her back continually pec slapping the surface of the water, while the little calf has got so much energy to burn and is not bothered by our presence. The calf has been breaching and head lunging repetitively, never looking like it will tire from so much activity.
