This Father’s Day brought unforgettable moments for passengers aboard Moonshadow-TQC Cruises, with inquisitive Humpback Whales providing close-up encounters along the Port Stephens Whale Highway.

Guests onboard both the Hinchinbrook Explorer and Envision were treated to a truly special experience when a curious Humpback Whale circled Envision before moving between the two vessels. Photos captured by Lee Matthews reveal the whale’s watchful eye as it investigated its surroundings—a clear sign of just how curious and aware these magnificent giants can be.

Later in the day, the 1:30pm departure ventured offshore towards Little Island, where two southbound Humpback Whales passed close by. These whales were determined on their migratory journey, but not without a few powerful tail slaps to remind everyone of the strength and grace of their travels.

With every departure, the Humpback Highway continues to deliver incredible encounters—making Port Stephens one of the best places in Australia to witness the awe-inspiring migration of these gentle giants.
