So many whales!!!
As we exited the heads this morning, we were instantly greeted by three pods cruising close to the coastline. It was a spectacular sight — a mother and calf breaching multiple times just 500 metres from the boat, sending up huge sprays of glistening water under the sunshine.
Another mother and calf pair were incredibly curious, coming close to the vessel and giving everyone an unforgettable up-close encounter. Off in the distance, more pods were spotted playing and breaching — the Humpback Highway was alive with activity today!
It’s a truly magical time to experience the southern migration — so many whale families enjoying the journey home past Port Stephens.
