What a day, the whales appear to be pleased to see our whale watch vessels out to meet them as they pass along the Port Stephens coastline. During both our morning and afternoon cruises aboard MV Osprey we have located pods of Humpback Whales near the Fingal Island Lighthouse. We have been blessed with an amazing breach of a large Humpback Whale breaching it’s self clear out of the water and of course, what goes up must come down and this whale has hit the surface of the water creating a massive white water splash!
Daily we head to Cabbage Tree Island to view the seals that reside on the island during the cold winter months, but today we have seen something a bit different with a seal breaching out of the water.
As Osprey has headed back into the harbour we have come across a very large pod of the local Bottlenose Dolphins with approximate 20 – 30 dolphin that were very playful.
