We have missed our whale friends over the past week with unfavourable sea conditions keeping on our whale watch vessels at the marina. With sea conditions easing and improving overnight we can’t wait to get back out on the Port Stephens whale highway today.
As MV Osprey has cruised towards Fingal Island this morning we have sighted a new born calf and Humpback Whale mother heading north, mum and baby came within close proximity to the vessel giving all our passenger a close view of the little calf.
Our afternoon cruise has traveled south towards Samuari Beach and located one lone Humpback Whale heading south bound. The whale has then changed direction to cruise north and joined another pod of two Humpback Whales. The whales have become active displaying tail lobs, they have continued in a northerly direction at one point coming right beside the vessel.
