A magical winters day in Port Stephens, the westerly winds have disappeared giving us calm and flat sea conditions for our whale watch cruises today. We have ventured off in the direction of Fingal Island, and can see a number of pods in the vicinity. Each pods looked to consist of two or three Humpback Whales. All pods were quiet to begin, and then suddenly we were in the midst of very active whales with displays of breaching, head lunching, tail lobbing and upside down tail lapping.
