Some days, words simply can’t capture the magic that unfolds on the water – and today was certainly one of those days.
It was an unforgettable day on the Humpback Highway with Moonshadow-TQC Cruises as our passengers experienced an incredible marine wildlife trifecta. From the moment we reached the open ocean, humpback whales were everywhere. Some delighted us with close encounters alongside the vessel, while others could be seen breaching and spouting on the horizon, creating an awe-inspiring spectacle in every direction.
As if the whale encounters weren’t enough, our journey also took us past the resident Australian fur seals, relaxing on the rocks and soaking up the winter sunshine. Their playful antics always bring plenty of smiles and add another special element to an already remarkable day.
To complete the hat-trick, a pod of local bottlenose dolphins made a surprise appearance, delighting everyone onboard as they swam effortlessly through the crystal-clear waters. Watching these intelligent and playful animals in their natural environment was the perfect finale to an extraordinary cruise.
With calm seas, beautiful winter sunshine, and wildlife at every turn, today reminded us why Port Stephens is one of Australia’s premier whale watching destinations. Every cruise offers something unique, and today delivered memories that our passengers will be talking about for years to come.
