This afternoon’s Whale Watch cruise delivered another unforgettable experience on the spectacular waters of Port Stephens.
Just between Fingal Lighthouse and Boondelbah Island, we were lucky enough to spot a lone humpback whale making its way along the annual migration. While travelling north, this magnificent whale decided to put on a little show for our passengers, delighting everyone on board with a series of impressive tail slaps for around ten minutes. After expending all that energy, our gentle giant settled back into its journey and continued on its way.
But the afternoon’s wildlife encounters were far from over!
As we cruised around the islands, we came across a huge pod of oceanic bottlenose dolphins. They surrounded the boat, surfacing gracefully as they travelled together, providing an incredible display of their playful nature.
To top off an already amazing afternoon, we were also treated to the sight of some cheeky Australian fur seals swimming just off Boondelbah Island. Always entertaining, these curious characters bobbed through the water, adding the perfect finishing touch to an action-packed cruise.
We can’t wait to see what tomorrow’s adventure brings!
