There’s something special about being out on the water, especially during whale season here in Port Stephens.
This morning, our crew was greeted by two northbound Humpback Whales who spent a generous amount of time on the surface, offering a calm and memorable sight. Just 500 meters away, another pod was spotted, though these whales were a little more elusive—diving deep for up to 12 minutes at a time.
The afternoon cruise brought more beautiful conditions. The sea was smooth, the air light, and spirits were high. We followed a lone northbound whale for a while, observing its steady dives, around 6–8 minutes apart. On our way back toward Fingal Island, we were lucky enough to meet a friendly pod of three Humpback Whales. They lingered for a while, giving our passengers a relaxed, close-up experience.
No rush —just slow moments with these giants of the sea. Another good day on the Humpback Highway.
