What a spectacular morning on the water with Moonshadow-TQC Cruises!
Our morning Whale Watch Cruise departed under beautiful clear skies, and it didn’t take long for the action to begin. As we made our way through the heads and into the open ocean, we were treated to an incredible sight – seven separate pods of migrating humpback whales making their journey north along the famous Humpback Highway.
One friendly pod seemed just as excited to see us as we were to see them, treating everyone onboard to a series of pectoral fin slaps – almost as if they were waving hello! Moments like these remind us just how interactive and curious these magnificent animals can be.
Just when we thought the morning couldn’t get any better, nature delivered an unforgettable surprise. Out of nowhere, a humpback whale launched completely clear of the water in an astonishing full-body breach before performing an incredible 360-degree barrel roll in mid-air. The enormous splash that followed left everyone onboard speechless, and before we knew it, the whale had disappeared beneath the surface, leaving behind nothing but smiles and excited conversations.
Adding to the magic of the morning, a playful pod of bottlenose dolphins escorted us out of Port Stephens Harbour, surfing effortlessly on the bow wave of our vessel and delighting passengers with their energy and curiosity.
Days like today are a wonderful reminder that every Whale Watch Cruise is unique. From playful dolphins and curious whales to breathtaking breaches, you never know what incredible wildlife encounter awaits.
