Whale & Wildlife Wonders in Port Stephens
Daily Sightings Update – Moonshadow-TQC Cruises
Boondelbah Island was the star of the morning once again, offering guests a breathtaking glimpse into the natural rhythms of the Humpback Highway. Our crew located a pod of three Humpback Whales cruising close to the island, surfacing every two to five minutes as they continued their steady journey south. With calm conditions and spectacular views, it was a fantastic opportunity to admire the sheer grace and power of these magnificent travellers as they made their way along the coastline.
Adding to the excitement, a large pod of Dolphins moved through the area, mingling with the whales and creating a lively display for guests and crew alike. Watching dolphins and whales share the same waters is always a special experience, and today’s interactions certainly didn’t disappoint.
Before making our way back to the marina, we visited Cabbage Tree Island where the local seals were soaking up the warm sunshine on the rocky ledges. Interestingly, the seals seem in no rush to head off this season—at this time of year, we typically start to see their numbers decline as whale season begins to wind down. But for now, these playful locals are happily calling Port Stephens home a little longer, much to our delight!
As whale season slowly approaches its final weeks, we’re still enjoying beautiful wildlife moments and unforgettable scenes on the water. Join us soon and experience the magic for yourself—Port Stephens continues to put on an incredible natural show! 🐋🐬☀️
