While the whales were very elusive during our morning whale watch cruises, unfortunately it was a morning where none of our vessels spotted whales. We did spot a pod of Common Dolphins near to Fingal Island.

Our luck has turned around for the afternoon whale watch cruises with a Humpback Mum and her calf delighting all passengers. The Hinchinbrook Explorer has been the first vessel to locate the pair just behind Cabbage Tree Island. The pair have been very playful and they has been lots of interaction with both whales breaching, head lunging, fluke slaps and coming in quite close to the Spirit of Port Stephens at one stage.
