2nd August 2020

What a start to the day, with blue sky’s and calm gentle breezes today is the perfect day to be whale watching at Port Stephens.

Our morning has started very quietly with a lone juvenile whale making its way north bound along the past the Fingal Bay Lighthouse. The Humpback Whale started with long sounding dives of up to fifteen minutes, but then to everyone’s surprise the juvenile starting breaching continuously.

Before returning to the dock both the Hinchinbrook Explorer and the Spirit of Port Stephens have cruise past Cabbage Tree Island to say hello to the seal that were basking on the rocks. We have also spotted pods of Common Dolphins off shore.
