Whale Watching Moonshadow TQC Cruises Port Stephens Lee Matthews

Passengers onboard MV Osprey this morning were treated to a spectacular display out on the Port Stephens coastline, with at least 8 to 10 pods of Humpback Whales within sighting distance. The activity was non-stop, with whales darting north, south, east, and west in unpredictable bursts, keeping everyone on their toes.

Our crew chose to spend time with the most energetic pod of the day, which delighted guests with repeated tail slaps, each echoing across the water as the whales showed off their strength and agility.

The adventure didn’t end there. On the way back, we paused at Cabbage Tree Island where the resident Fur Seals were basking in the morning sunshine. Just when we thought the excitement was over, a large pod of Oceanic Dolphins appeared, racing alongside MV Osprey and riding the bow wave to the thrill of everyone onboard.

It was one of those unforgettable mornings that reminds us why Port Stephens is one of the best places in Australia to experience the incredible wildlife of the sea.

Join us soon with Moonshadow-TQC Cruises for your chance to witness the magic of the Humpback Highway first-hand.
