Whale Tales and Dolphin Dances: Adventures Along the Port Stephens Coastline!
Picture this: a beautiful morning with clear skies, gentle waves, and a sense of excitement in the air. As we set sail from the Fingal Island Lighthouse, little did we know that we were about to witness a whale extravaganza!
As we cruised east, the ocean seemed to whisper secrets of the deep. And then, like a scene from a National Geographic documentary, there they were – mighty humpback whales in all their glory! Not just one, not two, but three or four pods of these majestic creatures were engaged in a competitive chase.
It was a spectacle to behold! We couldn’t help but cheer them on and sprayed water in a frenzy of splashes. The whales seemed to be saying, “Anything you can do, I can do better!” Talk about some serious cetacean competition!
But the whales weren’t the only stars of the show. As we made our way to Cabbage Tree Island, we stumbled upon a group of cheeky seals, sunbathing and showing off their best poses. They seemed to be saying, “We might not be as big as the whales, but we sure know how to strike a pose!”
Just when we thought the adventure couldn’t get any better, we arrived at Yaccaba Headland. And there, in crystal-clear waters, a massive pod of Bottlenose Dolphins greeted us.
As we sailed back to shore, our hearts were full of joy and wonder. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to witness such incredible marine life in their natural habitat. The Port Stephens coastline truly is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
