Spring school holidays in Port Stephens have truly turned into a whale lover’s paradise! The waters are alive with energy as pods of Humpback Whales continue their migration, putting on an unforgettable display for our guests aboard Moonshadow-TQC Cruises.
This afternoon aboard MV Osprey was nothing short of spectacular. It was a “whale rush” as approximately eight whales decided to flip the script—turning the tables on us by engaging in their own people watching. Our passengers were treated to heart-stopping close encounters as the whales came right alongside the vessel, rolling, breaching, and showing off their sheer size and power.
Adding to the magic of the day were the many pods scattered throughout the area. Everywhere you looked, there were whales breaching, flukes slapping, and playful calves practicing their moves under the guidance of their mothers. The abundance of babies this season has been a highlight, bringing a whole new level of excitement and cuteness to the migration.
With calm spring weather and non-stop action, there couldn’t be a better way to spend the school holidays than on the water with us. If you’ve been thinking about joining a cruise, now is the time—the whales are everywhere, and every day is delivering new moments that leave passengers and crew alike absolutely buzzing.
