What a day for our official launch of whale season cruising! The sun was out and with absolutely perfect conditions offshore, this had us excited to get out there and see what magic we would find.
The day begun with a welcome to country and smoking ceremony with the Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council, official opening and ribbon cutting with our passengers then boarding soon after.
With over 280 locals and visitors to the Port Stephens area spread across our three vessels venturing out today for our whale watching cruises, we were thrilled to find five separate pods of humpbacks just off Cabbage Tree Island who were giving our passengers some great viewing with tail slaps and breaches. 10-15 fur seals were also spotted both swimming and warming up on the rocks of Cabbage Tree Island.
All in all it was an incredible day to kick off our whale season and a sign of what’s hopefully yet to come.
