Today’s calm waters made for perfect conditions for whale spotting. It was ‘Whale overload’ on our morning cruise with passengers being treated with whale sightings in all directions.
We made a beeline to the east of Fingal Island where we meet up with a pod of whales who were rather sleepy and not that active. But not for long, we were soon met by a number of pods who were showing off to us, with plenty of breeches, tail slaps and head lobs. We had a cheeky one come right behind the boat to say hello.
With lots of action from the whales we then cruised north to Cabbage Tree Island to spot some seals. “Big Daddy” lazed on the rocks sun-baking while the kids had a great time darting in and out of the water. It was the perfect day for the seals to bask in the warm sun.
As we entered back into the bay we were greeted by a pod of 50-60 Bottlenose dolphins near Tomaree Headland putting on a real show for us, just to top of a perfect morning on MV Osprey.
