Gorgeous sea conditions again today and the whales are about in great numbers, while we are viewing pods of Humpback Whales within close proximity to the boat there are a number of different pods further off in the distance. One whale surprise everyone during the morning cruise aboard the Hinchinbrook Explorer by breaching unexpectedly catching everyone’s attention very quickly.
We have another day of heat runs, with pods of two – three whales combining to created a large pod of Humpback that were circling around, a one point the turned around and head south back towards Fingal Island. All whales were very vocal as they tried to display their dominance within the pod with lots of head lunging and action happening beneath the surface of the water.
