Our day aboard Explorer got off to a great start, with a pod of dolphins spotted near Yacaaba on the way out. They were putting on quite a show, giving everyone a fantastic welcome to the day.
Near Boondelbah Island, we found a beautiful humpback mum and calf travelling together. Mumma gave us some spectacular pectoral-fin slaps before treating us to two impressive breaches!
Further offshore, we also spotted two bottlenose dolphins cruising through the open ocean.
There was an abundance of whales found just off Boondelbah Island with breaches galore!
The whales were heading south along the coast, giving passengers plenty of spectacular surface activity to enjoy. It was a fantastic day for whale watching, with calm seas and lots of whales making their way along the Humpback Highway.
