Come and join us……there are still an abundance of whales migrating to the warmer waters, although off Port Stephens over the weekend, the offshore water temperature was 19 degrees which is remarkably warm for this time of the year for this region. There was reports last week that a local fishing boat witnessed a mother birthing right here on our doorstep and todays morning cruise spotted a mum with a very newborn calf, its peck fins still bent. What a beautiful sight to see. We let them be as there were many more pods around to watch in play.
Our afternoon cruisers were again spoilt with many pods of whales in every direction they looked with one very active juvenile breaching several times off Fingal Island.
The sea colony is growing in numbers daily at Cabbage Tree Island.
