With the weather just fining up in time for our 10am whale cruise this morning, and offshore conditions looking pretty perfect our crew and passengers were keen to get out there. Straight up, just off Fingal Island we located two large pods of whales showing off with some great surface activity of tail lobs, breaching and lots of sounding dives. Things soon turned into what looked like a pretty active heat run, which is always something exciting to witness.
We decided to stop off at Cabbage Tree Island to see if our seal friends were about and they sure were, lapping up the sun just as much as we were. Then coming back in past Yacaaba Headland we spotted a few large pods of bottlenose dolphins also.
The afternoon Whale Watching cruise were entertained with Whales everywhere and the Dolphins decided to get on the playfulness also riding the waves the Whales were creating. Occasionally the Whales were annoyed with the Dolphins and decided to breach to break up the party! A spectacular day on the humpback highway with passengers not sure which way to look.
