What a day we had today! Our 10am Whale Watching Cruise on board Hinchinbrook Explorer had our passengers just north of Fingal Light House find 8-10 pods of whales in close proximity. The pod closest had 5-6 big males and in the distance lots of breaching pods all showing off with continuous tail slaps.
Our 1:30pm crew reported from the same location “we are surrounded by a forest of blows! Whales all around us!”
Lots of double breaches and a spicy heat run with a few of the larger males. Renee our cruise director also reported “whales in every direction all within 500m of the boat”.
