The winter school holidays is the perfect opportunity to book the whole family on a whale watch cruise with Moonshadow TQC. Our vessels and crew are extremely family friendly = Safe and educational for all ages – a perfect adventure for the whole family. Winter attire of jackets, scarfs and beanies are a must as you want to be out on the decks for the prime viewing location of the magnificent Humpback Whales.
The crew report from the Hinchinbrook Explorer today have found whales quickly this morning, as a number of pods were sighted within line of the Fingal Island Lighthouse. We have stuck with a curious pair of Humpback Whales who took an interest in the boat, even swimming in nice and close. We think they were doing a bit of people watching – if you look carefully you can see their eye looking to see what is happening around them as they surface.
The afternoon cruises has been zigzagging along with a pod of two whales who kept changing their direction, they spent a good amount of time on the surface of the water. There are whales in abundance in each direction that you look today, we also spotted a breaching whale in the distance.
Passengers on the 90 minute Whale Watch Express onboard Envision have been treated to gamut of activity with some close whale passes, a couple of surprise breaching Humpback Whales, tail lobs and pec slapping.
