It has been a perfect day for whale watching at Port Stephens, while there is certainly a chill in the air we are happy to be back out on the whale highway. The crew onboard the Hinchinbrook Explorer has located a pod of two Humpback Whales. We have cruised along with the pair as they made their way north bound onto towards Boondelbah Island. The pair were spending a good amount of time on the surface of the water, even appearing to be logging or resting for a time.
The count of Australian Fur Seals at Cabbage Tree Island was up to ten – if you have ever tried looking for a brown seal resting on a brown rock you will be aware of the challenge in determining what is rock and what is a seal. They blend very well into their surroundings.
