Whale Sightings

Back to Whale Sightings

11 OCTOBER 2024

With beautiful conditions on the water today our Whale Watching Cruises across all sessions were nothing short of incredible!

First up we located four whales heading north (of all places at this time of the season), tail slapping their way in the opposite direction to the rest. Three more humpbacks were spotted just north of Little Island with the whole lot of them breaching left right and center.

We stopped by Cabbage Tree Island on our way back towards Nelson Bay and saw an abundance of Australian fur seals enjoying the sunshine and warm weather just as much as we were.

Once we left our furry friends and were coming in towards the entrance of our harbour, we had 3 very large humpbacks and one calf all breaching, tail slapping and pectoral fin slapping together. This was something we couldn’t pass up so decided to hang with this group for a little longer before coming back in to dock. All in all i think we counted 15 whales seen across our cruises today.
