Port Stephens enjoys an excellent whale season and Moonshadow - TQC Cruises offer two great Whale Watching Cruise options from Nelson Bay lasting 2.5 to 3 hours (and this year departures from Tea Gardens)
Whale watching season is traditionally from mid May to early November in Port Stephens.
You will never forget seeing the awesome bulk of a Humpback whale, that can be up to 18 metres long and weighing as much as 40 tonnes!
Being the most surface active of all the whales, you have the chance to view spectacular displays - spy hops, pectoral slaps, body rolls and ... the breathtaking breach.
Enjoy informative commentary as you cruise with views to our beautiful outer coastal islands and the chance of seeing other species including Seals, Common Dolphins and our very own local Port Stephens Bottlenose Dolphins.
With multiple vessels and great 360 degree viewing decks (both inside and outside) you can be sure you are getting the best view of these friendly giants.
We will even give you a complimentary return cruise if we don't see a whale (stand-by basis only)
