26 JULY 2023
The crew on the Hinchinbrook Explorer have headed straight out through the headland at Shoal Bay and motored towards the Fingal Island Lighthouse where we have located a pod of two Humpback Whales. Both whales were spending a good amount of time on the surface of the water giving everyone onboard a chance to take in the sights and sounds of the whales swimming on their northern migration. As we have left the whales to continuing on their journey we gave swung past the seals at Cabbage Tree Island – today’s seal count was topping 15! To round the day off with our top 3 wildlife encounters we have viewed a pod of the local Bottlenose Dolphins swimming at the base of Yaccaba Headland on the Tea Gardens side of the harbour.
