Our morning started bright and extremely early with a Photography Whale Watch Cruise departing the d’Albora Marina, Nelson Bay at 7am. What a great way to start the day, watching the sun rise over the horizon and the colour appearing in the sky!

We hit the trifecta whilst being joined by local and keen photographers from Port Stephens, sighting a number of Humpback Whales, Common Dolphins and of course the friendly seals at Cabbage Tree Island.

Our regular scheduled whale watch cruise aboard the Hinchinbrook Explorer has set sail at 10am today finding a pair of Humpback Whales close to Point Stephens, at Fingal Island. The pair were a bit difficult to keep track of as they headed further off shore and away from land.

The seals are out swimming further afield than just Cabbage Tree Island today, with a lone seal being spotted fishing close, there must have been a large school of fish lurking beneath the water surface as the Gannets and Albatross birds were also diving into the water looking for a feed.
